Members of European Erasmus Plus Project visit ISFOC

Members of the European Erasmus Plus Project have recently visited ISFOC. This Project is focused on teaching aspects related to renewable energies. Both teachers and researchers belong to 3 European universities (Northumbria University de Newcastle, Reino Unido; Universitá Politecnica delle Marche de Ancona, Italia, y Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha de Ciudad Real, España) and to 5 Latin American universities (Ciudad Universitaria Jose Antonio Echevarría, Cujae, La Habana y Universidad de Oriente de Santiago de Cuba; Universidad Federal de Itajuba y Universidad Federal de Bahía, Brasil; y Universidad de Santander, Colombia).

ISFOC visits the Arcilla Techological Centre in Toledo

This 10 April, the Instituto de Sistemas Fotovoltaicos de Concentración has held a meeting with the Arcilla Technology Centre in order to identify synergies and possibilities for collaboration. After the meeting, the attendees visited the laboratories and facilities of the Arcilla Technology Centre to learn about all its capacities and the works that are currently being developed in the centre.

Great participation sucess in the Coference "R&D finance in business projects. Uses and applications of Renewable Energies"

The General Director of Universities, Research, and Innovation from the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Mr. Ricardo Cuevas, along with the Deputy Major of the Puertollano City Council, Mr. Miguel Peña, inaugurated the first Conference, “R&D Finance in Business Projects: Uses and Applications of Renewable Energies.” The Conference was promoted by the General Director of Universities, Research, and Innovation, being organized by the Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems “ISFOC” (subsidiary company under the Department of Economy, Enterprises, and Employment from the Castilla-La Mancha Government, through the Financing Institute of Castilla-La Mancha). The Conference took place in ISFOC headquarters in Puertollano and was attended by more than 35 participants, all of them belonging to the academic, scientific, and, mainly, to the business communities.

CONFERENCE "Financing of R+D+i in Business Projects: Uses and Applications of Renewable Energies"

Attendees will have the opportunity to know the financing formulas and calls that best suit their ideas and R+D+i projects. Likewise, through examples of good practices shown by entrepreneurs, it will be possible to know the applications that solar energy is having in the industrial and agricultural sectors, and the inconveniences that these entrepreneurs have faced for the start-up of said facilities and/or projects .

ISFOC visits the CIRCE Foundation

Last Monday, 19 September 2017, some researchers from the Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems (ISFOC) visited CIRCE (Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption), located in Zaragoza.

ISFOC’s researchers took the opportunity to get to know all of the laboratories first-hand, as well as the zero emissions building situated on the Ebro River campus of the University of Zaragoza. Likewise, during the visit, the researchers from both centres shared both the innovative solutions and scientific/technical knowledge which CIRCE offers to the business sector in the field of energy and ISFOC’S innovation and development activities in the CPV and energy efficiency fields.

Start-up of the CLAMBER project in Puertollano

The mayor, Mayte Fernández, said that the commissioning of the CLAMBER plant, a project that, in her opinion, adds value to Puertollano, is the beginning of a chain of good news for the city.

It is a project, which, in the words of Fernández, is a leader in the sector with the objective of generating employment. “It is very important technologically for research and everything deemed ‘environmentally friendly,’ because we need to respond to the conservation of the environment, and it integrates us into a regional strategy that has to do with other cities and their situations.”

ISFOC -Innovative SME

The Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems again confirms its condition as an Innovative SME member, since it has recently renewed its registration in the Public Registry of Innovative SMEs, belonging to this Registry since 2015. This renewal involves achieving the Hallmark of Innovative SME granted by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, being valid until 2019. Consequently, and with this distinction, ISFOC certifies having proved its innovative capacity and character as well as its long history of constant innovation participating in R&D projects.

DRONES4CIP: Drones for Critical Infrastructure Protection

Last 6 February 2017, the first working meeting of the Project, “DRONES4CIP: Drones for Critical Infrastructure Protection,” was celebrated in Malaga, and was attended by ISFOC, as the project coordinator, and the Andalusian companies,  Aeorum España S.L. and Ayesa Advanced Technologies S.A. Apart from the partners of the consortium, the development of the Project will benefit from the active participation of four important entities due to their valuable contributions: University of Málaga, Sevilla Ports Authority, the National Centre for the Protection of Infrastructures and Cybersecurity (CNPIC) and Jefatura de Sistemas Especiales de la Dirección General de la Policía.

ISFOC undertakes the last stage of the SOLARPLUG Project

The Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems is performing the last stage of the project “SOLARPLUG: Experimental Development of a stand-alone system with tracking system”. In this last stage, once the weather station and the two-axis solar tracker prototypes are built, both functionality and reliability will be validated in order to refine the designs and the solutions adopted.
