Follow-up Meeting of the openSIROCO Project

On July 18, 2019, the consortium of the openSIROCO project, "Open Innovation Platform for Collaborative Robotic Systems of Production 4.0," visited ISFOC's facilities and held the project's annual follow-up meeting. During the visit, representatives from TTI Norte, AEORUM, Pago del Vicario, and ISFOC reviewed the project's progress and ongoing work.

During this technical meeting, specific points such as the technical specifications of the photovoltaic plants were finalized, and the design and integration of advanced communications for the hardware integration of communication equipment and the development of the distributed sensor network were reviewed. The locations for deploying the sensor networks in the Pago del Vicario vineyard farm and the communication network through which the data provided by the networks and drones will be received and stored on the openSIROCO Platform were also decided.

The openSIROCO project involves seeking robotic solutions and configurations to improve Industry 4.0. These solutions will be adapted to open and heterogeneous sectors such as energy, agriculture, livestock, construction, mining, logistics, and transportation. Additionally, specific issues in vineyard cultivation and photovoltaic installations will be analyzed to create an experimental development of a management system for collaborative robotic missions applicable to the photovoltaic and viticulture sectors. Ultimately, the goal is to bring robotic technology and Industry 4.0 to traditional industries to modernize work methodologies that facilitate or even automate decision-making processes, such as in vineyard cultivation and the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants. Similarly, the aim is to generalize and standardize operations to address new problems through open innovation and collective intelligence.

The openSIROCO project is funded by grants aimed at promoting regional cooperation in research and development (FEDER INTERCONECTA Programme) within the framework of the 2017-2020 State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation. File: EXP-00111433 / ITC-20181090.
