On October 17, 2022, the official launch meeting of the CLEAR SOLAR project took place telematically, although work had already been underway. During this session, consortium members shared project details, established work timelines, and defined the frequency of both technical and administrative follow-up meetings to be held.
The consortium consists of: Solartys, a non-profit solar energy cluster that works with the entire solar energy value chain to improve the competitiveness of its members and the sector in which they operate; Instituto de Sistemas Fotovoltaicos de Concentración S.A. (ISFOC), a company belonging to the Castilla-La Mancha Finance Institute Group, dedicated to R&D in photovoltaic technologies, energy efficiency, and smart sensors; Blue Circular Innovation (part of Blue Room Innovation), a company expert in technological solutions and blockchain, consulting and innovation financing; and Sterna Innovation, a strategic engineering and innovation company dedicated to product design through to certification, integrating into customer teams to empower and achieve defined goals.
The main objective of the project is the design and development of a new tool that allows the solar photovoltaic energy production sector to accurately know the health status of solar installations and plan the necessary maintenance actions in order to optimize and maximize the efficiency and production level of the country’s photovoltaic plants. The project focuses on solving the problem of dirt accumulation on solar panels, a problem that can affect up to 20% of their performance, and for which there is currently no technological solution focused on controlling and minimizing its effects. The tool created by the project will benefit the entire value chain of the solar photovoltaic sector in the future, including producers, installation companies, and other sector members.
The project is funded by grants for the support of Innovative Business Groups (AEI) from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR), with file number AEI-010500-2022b-180.
