Proyecto Metaverso Launch Meeting

On October 21, 2022, the official launch meeting of the METAVERSO project (Predictive maintenance platform for virtual monitoring in the metaverse of photovoltaic installations) took place, although work had already been underway. During the telematic meeting, consortium members shared project details and established work timelines as well as future administrative and technical meetings to be held.

The consortium consists of: Smartech Cluster (with the support of Solartys, the solar energy cluster), a non-profit association that brings together all actors in the value chain of the home automation, smart buildings and cities sectors, and the digital transformation of industry and other economic sectors; Instituto de Sistemas Fotovoltaicos de Concentración S.A. (ISFOC), a company belonging to the Castilla-La Mancha Finance Institute Group, dedicated to R&D in photovoltaic technologies, energy efficiency, and smart sensors; Aumenta Solutions S.L., a company offering solutions based on Augmented Reality technology for professionals in industry, engineering, and architecture; Innova IT S.L., a software engineering company specializing in the development of automation and digitalization solutions for industrial processes; and Verne Technology Group S.L., a technology consulting firm covering the ICT sector as specialists in Data, Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Software Solutions, Telecommunications, Infrastructure, Systems, and Cybersecurity.

The main objective of the project is to implement a predictive maintenance solution based on Artificial Intelligence techniques and data visualization in a collaborative virtual environment in the form of a control center in the metaverse. This solution, intended for use in photovoltaic installations, aims to reduce and optimize the cost per optimal maintenance action (predicted failure within a defined time), minimizing costs due to unplanned failures (corrective maintenance) as well as costs from over-maintenance (preventive maintenance).

The project is funded by grants for the support of Innovative Business Groups (AEI) from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR), with file number AEI-010500-2022b-174.
