During the visit, COGITI members attended a virtual reality demonstration of the Metaverse and Emplea2 Solar projects focused on virtual training in the photovoltaic field. Additionally, they had the opportunity to tour the entity’s laboratories: the climatic testing lab, the solar simulator, and the photovoltaic module manufacturing and verification lab, which features new equipment recently acquired by ISFOC. They also saw various projects and installations integrating photovoltaics into architectural elements (solar tiles, bifacial technology railings, and examples of solar pavement installed on the building’s roof).
During the visit, we were accompanied by the Delegate for Sustainable Development of the CLM Regional Government in Ciudad Real, Mr. Casto Sánchez Gijón, from the Ministry to which ISFOC is affiliated.
He welcomed them on behalf of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, highlighting that this R&D Centre is currently developing nine leading projects of various kinds, mobilising €11.5 million, and exemplifying the Institute's sound financial situation, which has recorded positive results in six of the last seven years.
